This site is all about the photo-graphical time capsules that are found in shoe boxes and on attics everywhere. Most of the 1050 photos date before 1970 (with some 'special' ones from the 70s) and again most of them are black and white (or monochrome to be more precise).
And although many are taken in the United Kingdom, there are plenty of photos from other parts of the world too!
Have a look around and maybe you can help us solve a few puzzles too? Any information and suggestions on these photos is appreciated!
Images can be viewed by year, by album, by country or by contributor, or you can use the simple search at the top of this page. Tip: Use the 'Additions' option in the topmenu to see all the changes since your last visit or to see all the photos and comments of the last couple of days!
When viewing the pictures you can leave your own comments using the form at the foot of each page. In this way we hope to build up an extensive collection of information, reminiscences and anecdotes. There are 1156 comments on the site at present.
You are also able to make your own album of the images (your favourites of the photos on the site) and make this publicly available if you wish. Use the 'My Album' link at the bottom. If you have any suggestions please email them to info@time-capsules.co.uk.
And now you can add your own photos too!
