Time Capsules

Welcome to the Time Capsules website.

This site is all about the photographical time capsules that are found in shoe boxes and on attics everywhere. All the 514 photos date before 1970 and most of them are black and white (or monochrome to be more precise). And although many are taken in the United Kingdom, there are plenty of photos from other parts of the world too!

Have a look around and maybe you can help us solve a few puzzles too? Any information and suggestions on these photos is appreciated!

Images can be viewed by year, by album, by country or by contributor, or you can use the simple search at the top of this page. Tip: Use the 'Additions' option in the topmenu to see all the changes since your last visit or to see all the photos and comments of the last couple of days!

Click to ViewWhen viewing the pictures you can leave your own comments using the form at the foot of each page. In this way we hope to build up an extensive collection of information, reminiscences and anecdotes. There are 167 comments on the site at present.

You are also able to make your own album of the images (your favourites of the photos on the site) and make this publically available if you wish. Use the 'My Album' link at the bottom.

If you want to add your pictures please make sure they are no wider than 720 pixels and less than 200KB and use the form at the bottom of the page or send them to us at info@time-capsules.co.uk.

If you have any suggestions please email them to info@time-capsules.co.uk.
