Wrexham Railway Station 1954Photo of Wrexham station (Wales) as it was c1954, well I can't see any real station buildings but this is the title provided :)
Wrexham had two stations, General and Central. With the 1846 opened General considered the main station. With this much track I would guess this is General.
The freight train is headed by steam locomotive 6331 (4-6-0?).

This is Croes Newydd south of the General station on the Great Western main line between Chester and Shrewsbury.
The building on the left with the sawtooth roof is the ex-Great Western Croes Newydd loco shed.
Croes Newydd formed a triangular junction surrounding the shed and branching off westward towards Brymbo and its famous steelworks.

The locomotive is one of Churchward's very useful mixed traffic 2-6-0s; a design first introduced in 1911. They were rated 4MT by British Railways and were used equally on freight and passenger trains
