Llanfairfechan Railway Station

Photo of the Llanfairfechan station as it was in c1950s.
Of picture #808 some of us thought it was Llanfairfechan (Wales), turned out it wasn't. But this one is!
This two platform station is located on the Crewe to Holyhead North Wales Coast Line.

Comments:
Llanfairfechan. Looking east. The station building was demolished (along with the signalbox?) in 1987 to accommodate the new A55 Trunk Road and the station was subsequently remodelled, although I gather the footbridge has survived. Freight services ceased here in June 1964. The signalbox has the look of an LNWR type. The line to Holyhead opened in 1848 and the LNWR opened the station in May 1860: it is now a request stop
