Comments:
Wellingborough. I'm assuming this is Wellingborough on the Midland main line between Bedford and Kettering. The London & North Western also had a station in the town, on a branch from Northampton to Peterborough. That's possibly a coaling tower in the background? A motive power depot - 15A - was located here. The date seems about right: the Black Five is heading a train of mixed carmine and cream and maroon stock about the time the former livery was being phased out
