Visit to St Kilda in 1970
Comments:
Hirta is the largest island of the St Kilda archipelago well off the west coast of the Western Isles, Scotland.
It was populated until 1930 when the last group of inhabitants were evacuated at their own request. I've seen a few documentaries on St Kilda at the Cromarty Film Festival (introduced by Laurence Henson / Allan MacKay) and it looked like a really unique community.
