Canal- location unknown
This is part of a collection of over 200 photos taken in Europe in 1904 by an unknown photographer. I have the negatives and have been trying to identify locations and also the photographer.

Hi Marcel,
I'm sure it's Holland, I'm just not sure where in Holland. I know the photographer was in Edam and Rotterdam and Alkmaar, as well as Volendam and Marken. The sign is obscure and cut off on the right, but it appears to say
"Macazij-
var
Steenkolena--" or something like that.

If you found this interesting, have a look at the following groups of pictures.

I assume it is taken in Holland, due to the ways the roofs are constructed. Although I assume it might also look like some part of rural England. Can you make out what the text on the sign on the building on the far right is?
