At the sculling races- Oxford, England

this craft is known as a college barge, there only a couple of them left sadly, the other ones were broken up.
at one time, each and every college in oxford had its own barge, which was used for observing the regattas in comfort.

This is the New College barge. There were two New College barges, one built c. 1879 and the second, designed by George Drinkwater in 1926. This still exists today. In 2003 ten Oxford College barges were still in existence, out of an original estimated 25. They were originally used as clubhouses for the colleges at Oxford, prior to the purpose built boathouses being built on Christchurch Meadows c. 1930s See The Oxford College Barges, (2003) C.
