Taken in November 1969. The small boy at the bottom of the picture is my youngest son.

Comments:
In 1949 this location would have only wooden dhows. In those days the highest building in Manama was the Post office (Two story) RAF Muharraq had a complement of only 65 including a Fl. Lt Commanding Officer (later cashiered!!)

Mr. Reed, your description of Bahrain in 1949 fits exactly how I found Dubai in 1969 - now developed beyond all recognition! I would guess that much has changed in Bahrain over the last 40 years too.
