Gresley Class V2 2-6-2 entering Holmes Yard

With a fast freight, 60983 was captured eastbound approaching Lincoln, while a rowing boat glides along the Foss Dyke in the opposite direction. I spent many hours cycling along this towpath, it's a pity I didn't take more photographs along it. From time to time I would also rent a rowing boat too, from the Brayford Pool. On Sundays when the East Coast main line was closed for maintenance, many an ex-LNER Pacific locomotive thundered by. For a 13-year-old trainspotter that was heavenly!
