Bampton Railway Station 1950sPhoto of Bampton Railway Station as it was in the 1950s. I've tried to get a positive identification, but failed so far.
There are two Bampton Railway Stations in the history books: one in Devon and one in Oxfordshire.
My guess is that this is the Devon Bampton....

This is the Bampton located in Devon, in the Exe Valley, which had a station that was closed on 5 October 1963. There is an excellent photo showing the station as seen from the top of the church tower on the bampton.org web site.

with a shadow of doubt this is Bampton Station Devonshire I have a very similiar photo which I purchased from Tiverton Railway Museum and it has the same car as the one in your picture. Great photo.

lovely photo, however, at risk of being an anorak, I don't think Triumph produced a Herald until 1959.

Mike Plummer has a point, so this shot is probably circa 1960. Compare with Ben Brooksbank's image taken in 1963: www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1749992

Hi, Mike certainly has a good point... and the Herald is a distinctly recognisable car :)
