Arksey railway station in 1955

Picture of the two platform Arksey train station as it was in c1955. Note the signal box and the gates which are open for road traffic.
This station was opened in 1848 by Great Northern Railway as Stockbridge and served Arksey and Stockbridge, Yorkshire, England. It was renamed to Arksey in 1854 and sits on the East Coast Main Line between Doncaster and York.
This didn't prevent the station having to close during Beeching's 'review' in 1952.

The East Coast Main Line is electrified nowadays and trains still pass this spot.

Comments:
Marcel - maybe a typo? The Beeching review took place in 1962, a decade later.
