Time Capsules - Old Photographs from the past

Beatty comes aboard

I was in Daylesford, last month, in the spa country of Victoria, Australia and, as is my habit, I was in an antique shop and in an old box of B&W photographs was the attached picture. I purchased for a $1. I then set about finding the album that it had been stripped but no luck.
Beatty is still a Rear Admiral so it is before 1916. The Officer on the right greeting a civilian has a Commodores Board Band on his sleeve. Perhaps your viewers would have some opinions.
How it came to Australia would be a tale in itself.
